"One"

It is a pleasant climate in Bangalore today and I am sitting at home with my daughter sleeping right next to me. I am some time to laze around since my work is kind of complete. Cleaning is over , so is cooking and I am on leave today so no worries about running to office today.

I am gazing at my blue book shelf. I have very few books stacked in my shelf and amongst them is The Holy Khuran, The Bible and Bagavat Gita. When the ripples of disturbance rings the door of my peaceful mind, I often turn to these books. It brings me back to my peaceful inner self.

Why are people so obsessed with religion? The way a religion expresses itself may be in different format but at the end of the day, all of them talk about God. All of them teach one to be a better human being, all of them talk about salvation and enlightment. There may be differences in a lot of them, but there are striking similarities in most of them. Then why do people kill in the name of religion? If anyone thinks ones religion teaches you to hate another human being, he or she has got his/herfundamentals wrong. Look at Islam, the greeting itself says "Salam Alaikkum " meaning "May peace be upon you". Bible - it says forgive and love like you want to be forgiven and loved; Budhism - The ultimate religion that preaches peace; Hinduism - Karma and the path of justice.

Here is a sneak peak from Bhagavad Gita ;

------------------------------

" Neither the hosts of demigods nor the great sages know my origin, for, in every respect, I am the source of the demigods and the sages.

He who knows Me as the unborn, as the beginningless, as the Supreme Lord of all the worlds-he, undeluded among men is freed from all sins.

Intelligence, knowledge, freedom from doubt and delusion, forgiveness, truthfulness, self control and calmness, pleasure and pain, birth , death, fear, fearlessness, non violence, equanimity, satisfaction, austerity, charity, fame and infamy are created by Me alone "

-------------------------
From Khuran;

Surah Al-Fathiah
