Have you felt the need to reconstruct your soul ever? Ever felt the fundamentals that you strongly believed in, could be love, friendship, concepts on life or things you wanted to do, sweep right under your feet to the abyss of nowhere? This uncontrollable need to rebuild your life on new theories? Priorities changing and taking new shape?
Reminds me of my friend , Nav. I met Nav in my office , right inside the glass cubicle filled with a bunch of techies. They say "blood smells blood" . A "mal" can always smell another in a distance. I knew instantaneously that Nav is a "mal" brethren.
Some friendships sprouts faster. Nav in a way reminded me of my best friend. Our Chai-pani sessions fondly called as TEA(m)-meetings gave path to a good bond between us. We all laugh a lot, we laugh at others as well as ourselves, we focus on our work to the hilt when it is called for and we enjoy as much as we can when time permits.
Regardless of our friendship that is like a smooth sailing boat, I disagree with Nav on many things. I believe Nav is slippery in love. I remember Bruce Willis in one of his interviews said that he doesn't believe in one love. Probably Nav believes in it too. What I cannot comprehend though is, the efforts you put in to each relationship! Imagine 5 or 6 !!!!!! Emotionally, one itself is disaster and two a catastrophe! I am in awe for the guts people like him carry but sometimes I loathe the "DC" ( don't care ) attitude!
Like a silver lining to a cloud, Nav is like the character "Sniff" in "Who moved my cheese? " He finds his way out of the maze of life without much hang overs. One quality I would advice the weaklings to learn from . He himself may not be aware , but the policy of his life is to sniff the lack of happiness in his life and move to a place where there is plenty! Life is all about learning and unlearning. Sometimes more of un-learning than learning! And this dude is good at it! Resurrection or reconstruction of soul comes easy for this guy! Kudos to Nav and people like him who knows how to pace themselves in this fast moving world.
PS: For the records, let me make it very clear that my difference of opinion with Nav continues on myriad subjects. I do not approve of anything he does or thinks. :) And if he beats me up for this post , he has inflicted this on himself! :D
